Elizabeth line (Crossrail) - will transform travel across the city, boosting the economy by billions of pounds and supporting thousands of new jobs and homes. The line, currently being constructed by Crossrail, will be named after the UK's longest serving monarch when it becomes operational.  Rail for London Infrastructure (RfLI) part of Transport for London will be responsible as Landlord / Infrastructure Manager for 4 central section stations, the tunnel environment, shafts, portals and a number of surface stations. In readiness for the phased opening of this prestigious railway, we are seeking to recruit a highly skilled dynamic maintenance team to take us into operation, and beyond.


Overview of role


The Building Services Senior HVAC Technician working for RfL(i) will support the delivery team, ensuring safety and reliability for Building Services systems on Elizabeth Line (Crossrail). The job holder will assist in the delivery of the Asset Maintenance Stewardship Plan, providing evaluation of building services systems, maintenance response and the Inspections of M&E equipment. The role will ensure that maintenance is completed safely to the required specification and within the boundary of cost and time.



Key Accountabilities

Assisting the Principle Maintenance Technicians.

Assisting the Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Discipline Engineers.

Ensure compliance to applicable Electrical, Mechanical, Public Health and Fire standards and operational requirements.

Assures the correct level of Electrical, Mechanical and Water distribution compliance and quality is achieved.

Responsibility for technical delivery and execution of Infrastructure inspections, maintenance and fault finding with reports within a multi skilled team.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience 


Knowledge of Vrv/Vrf systems, splits and Dx, Chiller plant and chilled water distribution.

Knowledge of close control systems.

Experience in Fault diagnoses, service, maintenance and commissioning.

Substantial experience with associated control panels, remote monitoring SCADA and/or BMS

Qualifications in Refrigeration and Air conditioning NVQ level 2/3 or city and guilds or equivalent and Cat 1 F gas accreditation.



Air Handling Unit supply and extraction systems experience.

Pumps, Pressurization units and associated plant.

Appreciation of Reliability Based Maintenance / Condition Based Maintenance.

Minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a mechanical grade.

City & Guilds graded 6189 (or equivalent)

Knowledge of electrical BS 7671
