The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the technical viability of the project works, (or part of the project works). Participate in the health and safety, quality, environmental and commercial management of the project.
Develop and Implementation of Quality planning and controls to ensure project compliance with the Specification and the Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability Company Policies;
Undertake any roles assigned within the contract PMP with the primary roles of quality control, setting out, managing ITP's and permit controller;
Checking and ensuring that the project works comply with the requirements of the contract specification and drawings etc. and maintaining appropriate records etc to confirm such compliance;
Maintain records of work done and site activities including as built records, diaries and allocation sheets;
Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
Maintain and develop client relationships;
Identification and reporting of anomalies and inconsistencies between drawings, specification and on site data.
Management of technical query process
Take off quantities from drawings
Calculate quantities of materials required from drawings and specification.
Proactive approach to the environment and customer care of all the stakeholders involved in a project. Promotion of a positive image of the Interserve name to protect and promote the brand name;
Undertake safety Inspections
Undertake Site inductions and daily briefings
Actively mentor and develop graduates and trainees.
Other duties as required by the Project Manager.
Knowledge skills & experience
Essential Civil Engineering/Building qualification; (essential)
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (desirable);
Preferred BSc Degree in Civil Engineering; (desirable)
Chartered status or approaching; (desirable)
Appropriate CSCS card (essential);
CITB Level 2 Safety Course SSSTS (essential);
First Aid at Work (4 day desirable);
Relevant Technical knowledge and ability to visualize and interpret drawings;
Good practical knowledge of site setting out, control and checking using EDM, pipe lasers, laser levels and GPS equipment;
Has held a similar position with a Civil Engineering Contractor for a sustained period (essential);
Knowledge and understanding of NEC Conditions of Contract, and in implementing contract processes (desirable);
Knowledge of Specification for Highways Works
Specialist knowledge/competences working in earthworks, piling, structures, in-situ concrete, retaining walls, temporary works (desirable);
Experience of working within the highways sector (desirable);
New Roads and Streetworks supervisor (desirable);
Experienced at undertaking quality checks;
CPD evidence of relevant post graduate practical training e.g. attendance on courses for Forms of Contract, Scaffolding Appreciation, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, H&S Management, e.t.c (desirable);
