Refuse Driver/Loader
Ref: ADV33655

Bin Lorry Driver required full time, must have LGV Class 2 in Surrey area

The role
To Collect Refuse, Recycling, Food and Garden Waste from designated domestic properties and take to designated disposal point
To Ensure that emptied containers are returned to correct collection points leaving the location clean and tidy including clearing of any spillage.
To make use of In-Cab technology to record items that have not been presented and or instances of non-compliance.
Key accountabilities
To collect containers from designated locations
To dispose of waste at designated disposal sites
Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete appropriate reporting
Ensure compliance with both company policies and legal requirements for vehicle use
Work as a member of a team and receive instruction from supervisors and or management and communicate this to other team members
To ensure satisfactory completion of allocated work in accordance with instructions
To operate the In-Cab device effectively 
To ensure that any relevant paperwork is completed and returned to the supervisor
Maintain good operational relationships with the public, client representatives and members of the team by dealing with items courteously and efficiently.
Ensure that where gates, barriers etc are left open to enable collection that they are left locked/closed after collection, paying attention to the safeguarding of keys and entry fobs
Clearing waste irresponsible dumped to ensure that locations are left clean and tidy
Give advice, guidance and assistance to new or inexperienced team members
Be fully compliant with all requirements of Health & Safety at work.
Carry out and assist with loading as required
Carry out any reasonable task or undertake other such duties that may be required
At all times carry out responsibilities/duties with regard to the Company’s Equal Opportunities Policy
Operate In-Cab technology efficiently
Maintain efficient working practices
Ensure full awareness of Health & Safety requirements of the procedure being undertaken
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and members of the public.

Skills & experience
Must have qualifications

Driver CPC Qualification
Basic literacy skills
Full Category C Driving Licence
Skills

Customer care skills
Administrative skills
Maintaining level of service in all weather conditions
Prolonged periods of physical exertion

Experience

Driving up to and including LGV Class 2 vehicles
Experience of Using a digital tachograph
Previous experience of a customer facing work area
