POSITION OVERVIEW
Interserve is currently recruiting for a Purchase Order Clerk to ensure that all PO’s and queries are raised and managed through to completion in a timely and efficient manner, providing general support to the buying team. The role is based at Ingenuity House in Solihull near Birmingham International airport and the successful candidate will be security cleared prior to starting  the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typing, scanning, filing and dispatch of purchase orders to the instruction of members of the buying team
Ensuring all orders are completed dispatched and filed in a timely and professional manner
Assisting the buying team with day-to-day procurement, queries, problems and enquiries from operational teams associated with the ordering processes and liaising with other buying team members to ensure that all matters are dealt with professionally and efficiently
Providing general administrative support for the procurement team
Placing of orders for the purchase of products, materials and services for operational teams in a busy environment to tight and often challenging deadlines
Flexible approach to day-to-day procurement needs of the procurement department
Operation of a computerised purchase order system
Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in

Previous experience in a similar role
Previous experience working in an administrative position
Working knowledge of procurement systems
IT literate with working knowledge of excel and word
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to work as part of a team and own initiative
