As the Project Support Officer you will be working as part of a matrix Delivery team to provide project delivery support within the Delivery directorate. You will support the preparation of project documentation to enable robust project governance processes, and support other key tasks such as planning and scheduling, milestone tracking, document control and basic financial analysis.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

Supporting preparation of project documentation to enable robust project governance processes, such as maintaining project progress reports and risk and issue registers, change control registers, benefits plans etc.

Supporting project planning and scheduling activities, tracking milestones and identifying variances.

Supporting configuration management for a project and document control.

Supporting simple analysis of project finances and budgeting.

Planning and prioritising work activities as directed by the Project Manager as well as ensuring all tasks are delivered on time and to high quality standards.

Compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation and contributing to the TfL Health and Safety Culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the Surface Safety vision of “Everyone home safe and healthy every day”.

 

Knowledge:

Knowledge and understanding of project and programme management methodologies and their practical application

Understanding of project controls tools and techniques

Understanding of TfL Project & Programme Management methodologies and processes

 

Skills:

Project Management - Applies detailed project management knowledge including PPM methods and practices to overcome difficulties in delivering project objectives (Knowledge)

Stakeholder Management - Understands and takes part in fundamental stakeholder management activities within a project (identification, prioritisation, etc. (Awareness)

Information Management & Reporting - Designs and implements effective information management and reporting processes for low complexity or low risk projects (Knowledge)

Risk/Opportunity and Issue Management -Takes effective action to identify and manage risks and issues associated with own tasks (Awareness)

Health and Safety - Works in a way consistent with TfL's Health and Safety policy (Awareness)

Budgeting and Cost - Demonstrates a knowledge of the project cost control process within TfL and implications for the project (Awareness)

 

Experience:

Experience of working in complex multi-functional and matrix environments

Experience of personal responsibility and accountability for working in busy project teams and delivering to time and quality

Experience of delivering small packages of work within projects
