Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. There’s more to it than tubes, roads, buildings and bridges. This is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.
Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll make sure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
As a true technical expert in your field, you will lead the development and implementation of complex engineering solutions, safely, and have a good understanding of cost implications, Value Engineering and risk based decision making. Day-to-day, you will have a leading role on technical guidance and advice in your position as a trusted source of engineering expertise for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery. As an applicant for this role you have expert knowledge around how to promote Engineering best practise and drive projects within the realm of the Transport for London working environment.
As a Principal Built Environment Engineer, you will use your technical expertise to design, construct, operate and maintain structures and buildings in the built environment. You may be a Registered Architect, a Chartered Building Surveyor, or a Chartered Building Engineer – whichever qualification you hold, you will lead on the design, construction and operation of Built Environment Assets, representing TfL internally and externally on all things Built Environment related.
The more teams you’ve led, the better. But it’s important you bring a passion for the TfL Vision and strategy too. That’s because, wherever you join us, you’ll explore work of unparalleled scale, scope and variety across a unique range of projects, as you build your career and expertise. So come and bring on tomorrow, as an Engineer at TfL.
