|Job Published:||February 15, 2019 17:56|
Switchback Mentors support young men upon their release from prison, shaping the fundamental change they want in their own lives. Supporting this battle for real change is always challenging, frequently frustrating, but hugely rewarding, helping us to continue to bring the chance of reoffending down.
To do this effectively you need to bring both professionalism and commitment. Critically, you also need to have great personal resilience to deal with setbacks, as well as endless patience and perseverance, and a real desire to work with challenging young adults – it is not a job for the faint hearted!
We are not looking for somebody who is driven by quick-fix solutions. Rather we need a self-motivated individual with outstanding skills in empowering and supporting our Trainees through the fundamental life changes they want to make. You will work both independently and as part of a small team and critically need to be open to new ways of working.
This is a full-time role with a starting salary of £21,750 – £26,000 per year depending on experience. You will need to have experience of working face to face with people with multiple needs and experience of personal development/ growth through self-reflection (eg: personal therapy, clinical supervision).
