Reporting to the Production Director, the Maintenance & Facilities Manager is required to create and implement a maintenance Strategy, develop and maintain a robust partnership with key suppliers, manage a team with split accountabilities and ensure the Roastery is protected and secure at all hours.  


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Championing engineering & facility “best practice” and the drive towards “right first time” design, without compromising speed of delivery.
Pro-actively driving efficiencies and cost savings, through reducing build costs of concessions, reducing cost per bean and reducing reactive and preventative maintenance demands.
Setting up all service level agreement contracts with external suppliers.
Reviewing technical design and development, both within Costa and our external partners.
Underwriting and approving key engineering & facility decisions.
Supporting the growth and technical learning of the Engineering & Facility Development function, through mentoring, knowledge sharing and generating learning material such as codes of practice.
Shop floor presence and takes responsibility for training across departments.

This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has good experience of working in a Engineering / Manufacturing environment with a continuous improvement mindset.  You will be a degree qualified engineer, with strong people management skills, as well as a proven ability to drive performance and the experience of dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups, as well as the following – 


Previously Mechanical and electronic maintenance experience, ideally 3 years + 
Experience of working with continuous improvement (CI) – Lean, Kan Ban, OEE, TOC etc
Previous experience in engineering processes, design, budget control, leading project teams
Third party management – building and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers/external stakeholders.
Software engineering – experienced in new technology/software
Good attention to detail, Planning & organisation skills and analysis & problem solving.
Effective communication.
Working in a multi-national organisation with multiple stakeholders
