Homelessness Support and Move on Co-ordinator x4
Bristol City Council's Housing Options Service has four permanent vacancies to work alongside Housing Advisors within the Homelessness Prevention Team. This is a specialist team working with families and single people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to ensure early intervention, prevention and to help households in being able to find solutions to their housing problems.

You will work with households that are in temporary accommodation to identify barriers to moving on to alternative accommodation and will also provide an outreach service in community based locations to enable households to engage with the housing options that may be available to them.

You must have excellent communication skills including mediation and negotiation skills.

These are new posts and you will work alongside Housing Advisors in the Homelessness Prevention Team delivering high quality advice and assistance to citizens that are newly approaching the service as well as those that are currently occupying temporary accommodation. 

You will have face to face contact with citizens in temporary accommodation to identify barriers that might be preventing move on into alternative accommodation.    
This will include carrying out home visits to their accommodation and providing an outreach service at community based organisations.    

You will have responsibility for developing information packs containing housing options and will also be required to analyse data for the wider team to identify trends which will form the basis of areas requiring service improvement.  

You must have strong organisational and problem solving skills and will be expected to work with a range of other teams within Housing Options, for example Private Renting Team, and other organisations including the voluntary sector.    

You will be expected to work on their own initiative as well as work under pressure as part of the wider team.
