Highways Apprentice - Level 4 Construction Site Supervision
You will need at least 3 A Levels and 2 GCSEs to be qualified for this program. You will be working closely with Site Supervisors on site in Kent
You will be given a variety of opportunities working on our Highways contract with Kent County Council, from meeting with the client and understanding expectations to being onsite and learning from a team of qualified professionals. The role will involve learning the skills and trades necessary to provide supervisory support to our Highways team, through a combination of formal training and practical experience. Taking responsibility for the safety of yourself to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public.
You will be working towards and gain NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision – Highways and Maintenance Repair
Location: Doubleday House, Aylesford, ME20 7BU
Hours per week: 40
What will you be doing?
Shadowing existing highways supervisors or pre-site technicians
Managing site visits
Planning programming work
Shadow/assist highways supervisor to carry out HSEA site inspections in accordance with contract instructions
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with CDM if applicable
Engage supply chain when necessary and ensure that their work is done safely
Assist highways supervisor filing and process overtime working and timesheets

Minimum of X3 A levels at Grade C or higher OR Level 3 apprenticeship/BTEC/HND in a related subject (or any other equivalent)
A minimum of X2 GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above
Minimum age requirement for the role is 18
Driving license would be advantageous
Commitment to studying towards a nationally recognised qualification
Supervisory experience, within any field would be advantageous
Excellent teamwork skills
A willingness to learn and keen to progress
Ability to juggle multiple tasks
