To provide a reactive and planned maintenance service to Interserve tenants and residents of the client East Thames Group. To work primarily in care homes and foyers and will consist of visiting sites to effect a repair,  some work will be in the clients corporate and commercial property. The role will be mobile and primarily in the South East London area with some travel required to further geographically spread property.

To carry out rubbish removal, Maintaining internal and external entrance and surrounds and common areas.
To be responsible for reporting issues relating to operation and appearance.
Address any acute internal issues for example blocked drains, toilets, replacement of light bulbs and lamps.
Reporting of breakdowns/fault.
In addition, this role will be responsible for communicating on the status of work.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
Effect repairs efficiently and with minimum disruption.
Provide assistance to other maintenance personnel as and when required.
To work overtime as and when required, notice will always be given.
Confidence to work frequently at height following all necessary health and safety procedures this requires a good level of fitness to access the required areas by ladders.
To follow all company procedures including following all company health and safety requirements.
To assist all trades and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
To ensure that all work is undertaken within the job holder’s own level of demonstrated competence.
Complete Ad hoc duties as requested by your management team.
Undertake all planned and reactive maintenance tasks in a professional manner in accordance with best practice and company standards and procedures.
Ensure all work undertaken complies with Statutory and Building Regulations.
Undertake and complete all work in a safe manner always having the safety and health of customers and occupants as a priority.
Liaise with Maintenance Teams during service calls during Planned & Reactive service visits.
Where necessary complete all maintenance work sheets and return for updating Planned Maintenance.
Co-operate with residents and tenants and be courteous and customer focused at all times and pay particular attention to the needs of vulnerable people.
Where applicable comply with any site security and comply with their instructions.
Maintain adherence to the Companies rules of conduct.
Work in accordance with the companies Health and Safety Policy and undertake risk assessments before starting work activity and report to your supervisor or line manager regarding any dangers; hazards or other defects/issues that may be encountered.
Comply with the Company dress code at all times and ensure the identification and name badge is displayed.
Ensure the correct PPE is worn at all times and that all work activity is undertaken safely for all concerned and affected by operations.
Attend and participate actively in the training provided either on or off site, attend tool box talks and any training arranged through approved bodies as required by line management.
Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.
Demonstrable previous experience as a handyperson.
Previous experience in a customer facing environment.
Physical / Dexterity.
Manual Handling ability.
Able to work in a demanding and busy area.
Carpentry qualification - desirable.
Communication skills.
