Job Summary 
Managing projects from contract award through to completion; reporting to either a Contracts Manager or Project Manager depending on the value and complexity of project.
To ensure the successful completion of projects for Interserve by achieving acceptable financial outcomes, whilst maintaining and improving client relationships, and adherence to the quality/safety/environmental/sustainability/Lean policies of the business.
Production or checking of RAMS for Interserve and subcontract operations.
Carrying out L4 safety inspections, reporting and recording of near misses.
Resource allocation and management of Site staff , ensuring effective delegation of tasks (e.g. quality checks and setting out) to team members;
Ensure timely methodology selection and preparation and completion of Method Statements, Risk and COSHH Assessments, and permits to work;
Reporting monthly to Contracts/Project Manager on the project cost value and progress against programme;
Ensure safe systems of work and adherence to Company Health and Safety Policy ;
Develop and maintain the Project Management Plan;
Enforcement and monitoring of the Company’s Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental, and sustainability plans;
Undertake the roles assigned within the contract PMP;
Management of projects/contracts;
Manage subcontractor operations and coordination including collaborative meetings;
Developing and maintaining client relationships;
Motivating staff;
Actively promote actions to achieve our Sustainability goals and the Clients KPIs;
Communication at all levels regarding progress of projects;
Staff recruitment, appraisals and actively mentor and develop Engineers and Sub Agents;
Generate requisitions for plant and materials within tender allowances;
Ensure customer care for all the stakeholders involved in a project – promotion of positive image of the Interserve name to protect and promote the brand name;
Assist developing the commercial project information (e.g. cost/value forecast, pricing of variations);
Manage temporary works planning and checking and lift plans in accordance with company procedures;
To carry out safety inspections and manage the Induction process;
For Highways England schemes produce Benefit Realisation capture forms and Knowledge Transfer packs;
Provide support during tender processes by involvement in the preparation of programmes, methodology, and development of quality/safety/environmental plans.

CITB Level 3 Safety Course SMSTS (5 day);
Appropriate CSCS card;
Professional qualification (Desirable);
Chartered status or approaching;
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (Desirable);
Knowledge and understanding of NEC Conditions of Contract, and in implementing contract processes;
First Aid at Work (4 day);
CPD evidence of relevant post graduate practical training e.g. attendance on courses for Forms of Contract, Scaffolding Appreciation, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, H&S Management, planning e.t.c. (Desirable);
Appointed person and Temporary Works Co-ordinator (Desirable);
Behavioural safety training (Desirable);
Training in Lean principles;
Has held a similar position with a Civil Engineering Contractor for a sustained period;
Experience of working within the highways sector (Desirable);
Experience running projects as a “number 1” above £10M in value (Desirable);
Experience in earthworks, piling, steel structures, in-situ concrete, retaining walls, bridges, temporary works;
Proven experience from engineering background demonstrating progress through Engineer and Site Agent to Project Manager;
Experienced in Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint;
Experienced in supervision of other engineers and sub-agents;
Experience presenting to audiences;
Planning and organising resources in order to meet tight deadlines;
Knowledge of BIM (Desirable);
Extensive knowledge of programme planning sequencing and updating;
Specification for Highway works.
Collaborative working, planning and implementing Lean techniques;
Relevant Technical knowledge and ability to visualize and interpret drawings;
Good practical knowledge of site setting out, control and checking;
