POSITION OVERVIEW
To enable the achievements of contract requirements and the Leisure Centre needs the Facilities Assistant will work closely with the Facilities Manager to provide an effective and comprehensive facilities management service. Services including planned and reactive maintenance, swimming pool operations, plant and water testing, security, fire safety, grounds upkeep, and general facilities services. Travel to other Leisure centres will be required to support instances of absence and through an on call rota 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake key holder duties and provide access to the Leisure Centre including call out requirements on a rota basis which will include weekends and public holidays.
Support and assist in the delivery of hard and soft facilities management services to enable contract fulfilment
To carry out duties in relation to the operation and first line maintenance of all swimming pool plant and related equipment to ensure availability at all times.
To carry out water testing and adjustments of the swimming pool plant to ensure availability at all times
To carry out duties and repairs as reported through the helpdesk to ensure availability, compliance and contractual obligations
To carry out planned maintenance as programmed and directed, to include statutory L8 and fire related testing and inspections
Take a site lead to meet reporting deadlines as required by the contract and management systems, as directed by the Facilities Manager
Support and assist with delivery of the cleaning to meet contract specifications. liaising with customers and the cleaning supervisor to ensure efficiency of service
To ensure the internal and external Leisure Centre environment is maintained in a condition conducive to leisure activities
Assist with proactive and reactive gritting and snow clearance when required
Work with the Facilities Manager to actively manage external suppliers/contractors in line with the company policy and procedures
To comply with the Company’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all employees, client teams, visitors, suppliers and contractors.
To ensure all accidents and incidents are reported accurately
To assist in the induction, training and supervision of cleaning teams in all aspects of the contractual agreements
To work with the site team to manage emergency evacuations
To work flexibly in line with contractual requirements
To hold a full clean drivers licence and access to a vehicle with the relevant insurance cover at all times
Response to intruder and fire alarm calls during out of hour’s period as part of an on call rota.
Participation in the on call rota
To undertake any other duties, consistent with the responsibilities of the post as directed by the management to ensure service provision

Experience in maintenance and DIY.
People Management
Health and Safety.
Previous experience in a similar role
 

 Desirable
 
National Pool Plant Operators certificate
Knowledge of Swimming Pool operations.
L8 Awareness
COSHH Training
PFI experience
Previous experience in a similar role.
Experience working in a Leisure environment.
Working with a Building management system (BMS)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Sites : In Leeds
Hours: 38 hours per week (Potentially from 2.00pm until 10.00pm), possible weekend working
