What is the purpose of this role?
To collect refuse / commercial waste from both residential & commercial properties and dispose of waste at designated location. Required to drive & load as directed
What will this role involve?
To collect refuse from requested locations within Eden
Dispose refuse at the appropriate waste collection sites
Carry out daily vehicle checks / complete appropriate paperwork
Ensure compliance with both company vehicle policy and all legislative requirements
Operate the compaction controls of a company vehicle when required
Work as a member of a team and receive any instructions from supervisors and communicate them to other crew members
To ensure satisfactory completion of work in accordance with instructions
Ensure paperwork is completed fully and passed to the relevant supervisor
Maintain the best operational relationship between public, other customers and client representatives by dealing courteously with complaints and enquires
Ensure that were premises, gates, barriers etc are unlocked to gain access and they are relocked, paying particular attention to safeguarding of keys
Cleaning rubbish irresponsibly dumped (I.E. fly tipping)
Give advise to new inexperienced staff
Be compliant with health and safety at work requirements
carry out loading duties as required
carry out any reasonable task or undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be required

What are we looking for?
Driver CPC Qualification
Basic literacy skills
Full cat C Driving licence
Customer care skills
Maintaining level of service in all weather conditions
Prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
Previous experience in customers services
Knowledge of GB domestic hours rules
Ability to work as part of a team
Health and safety awareness
flexible approach to hours of work
Knowledge of health and safety requirements
