Community Payback Supervisor (Sessional/Ad-hoc)

Salary: £11.42 per hour + plus enhancement for Saturday and Sunday working

Thames Valley Community Rehabilitation Company (TV-CRC) are looking for Sessional Supervisors to join our Community Payback team.

We currently have various opportunities for a Community Payback Supervisor to join Thames Valley CRC. We have open Vacancies in following offices: Oxford; Bicester; Milton Keynes; Reading.
Some of your responsibilities include:
Supervise groups of service users working on projects to improve local areas, helping them learn practical skills in DIY, decorating, basic woodwork, gardening and conservation work.
Sourcing and risk assess potential projects, liaising with beneficiaries, and ensuring that sufficient and appropriate projects are available.
Expected to impart work-related skills and act as a role model.
Developing a rapport with service users from a range of backgrounds, with the aim of encouraging and supporting them to change their behaviours.
Responsible for maintaining records and attendance logs.
Building and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, beneficiaries and service users.
Organise, run and supervise work placements plus source and risk assess potential new projects
Maintain discipline and maintenance of community payback rules, dealing with any difficulties in a constructive manner.
Encourage a learning environment and reinforce motivation of service users.
Assist in the delivery of Health & Safety at Work and Vocational Skills learning.
Our Community Payback Supervisors oversee groups of up to 10 offenders with Unpaid Work Requirements (formerly known as Community Service) whilst they are completing work placements within the community. The work can be anything from clearing paths and alleyways, to painting schools, to conservation work and is carried out for local communities, charities and ‘not for profit’ organisations.
Excellent communication skills and a range of practical skills are essential. You must have use of a vehicle as you will be required to travel throughout the region, and you will also be required to drive a people carrier. We're not looking for specific experience in offender management; it's much more about your ability to effectively manage a team and deal with challenging behaviour. You'll be given full training and be paid a competitive hourly rate including an additional allowance for weekend work. You will agree your working hours with your Manager in advance but will essentially work for us on an ad-hoc basis, as and when required.
