We have a new opportunity for a Community Investment Advisor to inspire and educate the next generation about careers in the built environment, seeking to generate a more inclusive future workforce and raise awareness about the opportunities that exist in the sector.
This role will coordinate education programmes for the Group, including working with delivery partner organisations, encouraging employee volunteering and being a central point of contact for Work Experience at Wates.
The Key Accountabilities will include:
Manage relationship with external delivery partners in relation to Build Yourself (Think Build insight days; general masterclasses, internships, mentoring and summer camps)
Review and maintain a suite of construction sector insight sessions for schools/colleges and work with Community Investment teams to recruit and signpost volunteering colleagues to these.
Deliver engagement sessions in schools as required
Attend two, week long residential summer camps in summer 2019
Review and maintain, in partnership with Career Ready, general employability masterclass sessions including a construction overview.
Working with Community Investment teams and external delivery partnercoordinate recruitment and ongoing support for Wates education engagement volunteers
To be successful in the role you will have an understanding of education engagement, ideally at Wates Group, and be able to communicate the value of engaging in education related initiatives across the business, to influence colleagues to participate, and provide a wider understanding of social value. You will be collaborative and proactive and enjoy working across the business.
You will ideally be qualified in social sustainability, and have effective written and verbal communication and influencing skills, coupled with engaging presentation skills. You will be familiar with working with young people and have a passion for sustainability.
This is a fixed term position until August 2019
