Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an a Buyer to join the Group Team based out of our Basingstoke Office. 


As part of the team, this role’s primary focus will be Purchasing & Supplier Management through market analysis/Intelligence including the analysis of basic data, business presentation, to draw conclusions or recommendations.  This will also include the Selection of Suppliers  for Business/Project based comparison (commercial/operational) to generate shortlist and recommendation in accordance with Wates processes and governance , alongside the Negotiation of terms  - concluding the terms and SLA and report saving/loss on project by project/business basis. 


This is a fantastic opportunity for a first class Buyer to make this role their own and deliver a successful partnership.   Role will have some travel and occasional overnight stays.


To be successful in this role you will have:

Knowledge of procurement programmes and financial targets
Knowledge of the construction market
Ability to raise and accept requisition orders
Good negotiating skills
Well-developed verbal and written communication
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
MCIPS - desirable but not critical
HNC in Building – desirable
