POSITION OVERVIEW
To assist the Accounts Manager in providing accounting services to the business units on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure bills and claims are entered on Public Accounts system.
Record recoveries and bills on the Public Accounts system.
Provide cashiering service to customers. Maintain cash books for public and service funds. Issue payable orders/cheques. Maintain effective working levels of cash, visiting local bank for depositing and uplifting cash.
Ensure end of day reconciliation is carried out on SAGE Line 50.
Compile the end of month accounts on SAGE Line 50 for all funds.
Other administrative and accounting tasks as directed by the Accounts Manager.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Knowledge Skills and Experience

Essential
Recent working knowledge/experience of SAGE line 50 accounts.
Ability to produce financial reports on Sage Line 50.
An understanding of prepayment and accrual accounts.
Able to interpret Balance Sheets and Profit and Loss Accounts.
Experience of providing a cashiering facility.
AAT Level 2 or 3 qualified or undertaking AAT qualification.
GCSE Mathematics or equivalent
GCSE English Language or equivalent
Experience of providing advice to customers.
Experience of a busy office/customer service environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Good knowledge of common Microsoft packages.
Desirable
Experience of Charitable accounting.
Person
Excellent numerical skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Display initiative.
Ability to accept responsibility.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a part-time permanent position working 20 fixed hours per week. We offer 25 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo/hold MOD Security Clearance.
